LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

MidAmerican Energy's Wind XII Project Approved
LCG, December 6, 2018--The Iowa Utilities Board (IUB) on Tuesday approved MidAmerican Energy Company's proposed Wind XII project. With the approval, the company is poised to install up to 591 MW of new wind turbines to add to electric generating capacity in Iowa. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2021, and the estimated construction cost of the project is $922 million.
The order by the IUB states that MidAmerican has satisfied conditions in Iowa Code for advance ratemaking principles associated with the project. In the settlement agreement, the ratemaking principles approved establish a cost cap. The agreement includes an allowed return on the common equity portion of Wind XII that will be included in Iowa electric rate base at 11 percent.
MidAmerican filed its Wind XII request for advance ratemaking principles with the Board on May 30, 2018.
