LCG, October 28, 2025--NextEra Energy and Google yesterday announced two agreements that will help meet growing electricity demand from artificial intelligence (AI) with clean, reliable, 24/7 nuclear power and strengthen the nation's nuclear leadership. First, Google signed a new, 25-year agreement for power generated at the Duane Arnold Energy Center, Iowa's only nuclear power facility. Texas Solar Project Sold to CIP
LCG, July 31, 2020—An affiliate of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has completed purchase of a 350 MW solar photovoltaic project near the Houston metro area from Solar Plus Development Inc. and Avondale Solar. The project, Fighting Jays Solar, was sold July 22 and is expected to break ground by summer 2022, according to the companies' press release.
Earlier in the month, Shell Energy North America entered into a long-term hedge agreement with the project to purchase power.
The day after the sale was complete, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners issued a Notice to Proceed to Centerpoint Energy to start construction on a substation that will permit interconnection with ERCOT.
The sale was initially announced in March. At that time the project was slated to be 440 MW and to break ground in 2020. Financial details have not been released.
