LCG, June 4, 2025--Energy Vault Holdings Inc. (Energy Vault) and Jupiter Power (Jupiter) today announced the signing of an agreement for the supply of an additional battery energy storage system (BESS) at a Jupiter site in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) region. The initial BESS project, located near Fort Stockton, Texas, was completed in July 2024, with a storage capacity 100 MW/200 MWh. The new BESS project will add another 100 MW/200 MWh of capacity. Construction has commenced, and the project is expected to achieve commercial operations by the end of this summer.

LCG, May 30, 2025--NuScale Power Corporation (NuScale), a leading provider of advanced small modular reactor (SMR) nuclear technology, yesterday announced that it has received design approval from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for its uprated 77 MW power modules. NuScale states that it remains the only SMR technology company with design approval from the NRC, and the company remains on track for deployment by 2030, with 50- and 77-MW SMR options.

RWE and Meta Announced New PPA for 200-MW Waterloo Solar Project
LCG, March 18, 2025--RWE and Meta today announced a new power purchase agreement (PPA) for offtake from RWE's 200-MW Waterloo Solar Project, which is located in Bastrop County, Texas. Under the agreement, Meta will purchase 100% of the output from the solar facility, which will support Meta's goal of matching its electricity needs with 100 percent clean energy. The project is scheduled to commence onsite construction in late 2025.
The newly announced PPA represents RWE's third, long-term contract with Meta in recent months, with a combined offtake of 574 MW from projects in Texas, Illinois and Louisiana. Previously, RWE announced that it had secured two PPAs with Meta for 100 percent of the output from RWE's 274 MW County Run Solar project in Illinois and its 100 MW Lafitte Solar project in Louisiana.
Meta's Head of Global Energy said, "We're excited to expand our partnership with RWE and look forward to the Waterloo Solar project coming online."
RWE Clean Energy's Chief Commercial Officer stated, "RWE's partnership with Meta underscores the importance of unleashing American electricity generation from all sources to support load growth in Texas and across the U.S. These collaborations enable us to continue investing in communities across America like Bastrop County, helping to stimulate job creation and economic prosperity, while simultaneously helping companies like Meta match the electricity use of their operations with clean and renewable energy."
RWE continues to expand its investments in renewable power in the U.S. Last year, RWE commissioned 1.6 GW of new solar, onshore wind and battery storage capacity in the U.S. In addition to the solar projects with Meta described above, RWE also announced today that it will provide 308 MW of new and upgraded wind power capacity to West Texas. RWE will first repower its 127-MW Forest Creek wind farm, which is currently underway and is expected to resume operations by the end of this year. Second, RWE will build the 181-MW Honey Mesquite project, which is scheduled to begin construction this Fall and commence operations in late 2026. Both projects will use GE Vernova's domestically produced, state-of-the-art, 2.82-MW wind turbines. RWE claims that, in total, it has more than 4 GW of projects currently under construction across a dozen U.S. states.
