Origis Energy Commences Operations to Achieve 1 GW Milestone at Rockhound Solar Complex in Texas

LCG, July 30, 2026--Origis Energy today announced that commercial operations have started for three additional phases, which combined accounts for approximately 500 MWdc of new solar capacity, at its Rockhound Solar complex in Ector County, Texas.

The new additions at the Rockhound Solar complex raise the operating capacity at the site to nearly 1 GWdc. The complex is scheduled to be completed by 2029, and its solar and storage total capacity is expected to then exceed 2 GW.

The Rockhound complex includes the operational Swift Air Solar facilities and meets the electricity needs of many companies, including Meta, Occidental, DSM-Firmenich, and Bekaert, through long-term contracts.

Origis Energy's CEO stated, "This milestone underscores Origis Energy's ability to consistently execute at scale. Reaching nearly 1 GW of operating capacity in Ector County, Texas demonstrates the strength of our platform, the depth of customer demand, and our ability to deliver complex, multi-phase infrastructure projects with safety, quality, speed and certainty."

The next phase of building out the Rockhound complex, which represents approximately 1 GW of additional solar and storage capacity, is currently being marketed for data center co-location opportunities and long-term corporate offtake agreements, reflecting continued demand from energy-intensive customers seeking reliable, scalable power solutions.

Origis Energy believes that the Rockhound complex contributes to grid reliability and material economic development while further advancing the company's strategy of developing integrated, multi-phase energy complexes designed to meet long-term customer demand.
