LCG, September 12, 2025--Entergy announced yesterday that the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) approved Entergy Texas’ proposal to build two efficient natural gas-fired power plants to support the region’s rapid growth. The combined electric generating capacity of the two facilities, the Legend Power Station and the Lone Star Power Station, will add over 1,200 MW to the Southeast Texas power grid to support new customer demand, increase reliability and lower costs for all customers. Both facilities are scheduled to commence operations by mid-2028.

LCG, September 4, 2025--Puget Sound Energy (PSE) announced yesterday that phased construction has commenced on its 142-MW Appaloosa Solar Project, a utility-scale solar facility underway in southeastern Washington. The project is being built by Qcells EPC, who will serve as the module manufacturer and the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solution provider. Construction is scheduled through 2026, and commercial operation is expected at the end of next year.

Joint Venture to Build 45 Megawatt Pennsylvania Plant
LCG, July 27, 2000--Subsidiaries of Southern Union Co. and Energy East Corp. said yesterday that they had formed a joint venture to build and operate a 45 megawatt peaking power plant near Scranton, Pa.PEI Power Corp. and Cayuga Energy Inc. will build the natural gas-fired merchant plant at the site of PEIs 25 megawatt Archbald plant, a cogeneration facility that burns natural and landfill gases. Archbald currently produces 21 megawatts of power for the PJM Interconnection, a power grid serving areas of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia." With this project, we are pleased to announce that PEI Power II will triple the output capacitycurrently produced at the Archbald site," said Vincent A. Bonaddio, president of PEI Power Corp., the Southern Union subsidiary.Cayuga Energy, the Energy East unit, will be general manager of the joint venture, operating as project manager for engineering and construction, and will also manage fuel procurement and electricity sales.The new project has received the necessary permits and approvals, and is expected to be in service in May 2001.
