LCG, September 12, 2025--Entergy announced yesterday that the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) approved Entergy Texas’ proposal to build two efficient natural gas-fired power plants to support the region’s rapid growth. The combined electric generating capacity of the two facilities, the Legend Power Station and the Lone Star Power Station, will add over 1,200 MW to the Southeast Texas power grid to support new customer demand, increase reliability and lower costs for all customers. Both facilities are scheduled to commence operations by mid-2028.

LCG, September 4, 2025--Puget Sound Energy (PSE) announced yesterday that phased construction has commenced on its 142-MW Appaloosa Solar Project, a utility-scale solar facility underway in southeastern Washington. The project is being built by Qcells EPC, who will serve as the module manufacturer and the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solution provider. Construction is scheduled through 2026, and commercial operation is expected at the end of next year.

Constellation Announces 650 Megawatts for Illinois
LCG, Aug. 18, 2000--Constellation Power Source, an affiliate of Baltimore Gas & Electric Co., said on Thursday that an ad hoc subsidiary, Holland Energy LLC, will build a 650 megawatt merchant power plant costing $250 million in Holland Township, Ill.Construction of the new plant is scheduled to begin next week with commercial operation expected in June 2002. Power from the facility, a combined-cycle plant with two gas turbines and one steam turbine, will be sold into the regional wholesale electricity market."Deregulation of electric markets across the country is creating opportunities to meet wholesaleenergy demands in growing regions like the Midwest," Charles W. Shivery, the companys president said, adding "Constellation Power Source is looking for the best fit, where the availability of additional energy will meet the needs of the community, the market, and our company."The company also recently announced plans to construct a 250 megawatt peaking plant near Bristol, Va., and a 300 megawatt natural gas-fired power plant in the University Park suburb of Chicago.
