LCG, January 13, 2026--Oglethorpe Power today announced it has selected Kiewit Corporation through its subsidiary, The Industrial Company (TIC), as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partner for its new combined-cycle (CC), natural gas-fired power plant in Monroe County, Georgia. The new, 1,425-MW facility represents a capital investment of more than $3 billion. Commercial operation of the new generation capacity is planned to commence in 2029.

LCG, January 9, 2026--Meta today announced new, landmark agreements that will (i) extend and expand the operation of three existing nuclear power plants and (ii) drive the development of advanced nuclear technology. Meta's new agreements with Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo follow Meta's request for proposals (RFP) issued last month. Meta expects these projects to deliver up to 6.6 GW of new and existing clean nuclear energy by 2035.

Con Edison Breaks Ground for New Hampshire Plant
LCG, Sept. 15, 2000Consolidated Edison Inc. said yesterday that a subsidiary had held a groundbreaking ceremony in Newington, N.H., for a new 525 megawatt power plant that will go into service in 2002.Newington Energy LLC, an ad hoc affiliate of Consolidated Edison Development Inc., will be a natural gas-fired, combined-cycle facility occupying 40,000 square feet, or a little less than one acre, Con Edison said. It will provide enough electricity for more than 700,000 New England homes."This new plant will provide power to thousands of homes in the region in an environmentallysound operation," said Stephen B. Bram, chairman of Con Edison Development. "The Newington plant will help satisfy growing energy needs, bolster the local tax base, and contribute to a competitive energy environment in New Hampshire."
