LCG, Oct. 11, 2000--Cinergy Corp. subsidiary Cinergy Global Power Ltd. said yesterday that it and Sea West Wind Power Inc. had signed off on the 28-turbine, 16.8 megawatt Foote Creek IV Wind Power project, placing the Wyoming wind farm into commercial operation.

The project is located on a rim of the Medicine Bow Range of the Rocky Mountains, northwest of Laramie. It is among the windiest spots in the nation.

"One of (our) key strategies is to invest in renewable energy projects worldwide," said John Bryant, president of Cinergy Global Resources. "The Foote Creek wind project fits perfectly into those plans and helps us diversify our generation assets in the United States."

Sea West has developed three large wind projects on the Medicine Bow Range and, with completion of Foote Creek IV, the rim will have a total installed capacity of 84.75 megawatts.
