LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

Midwest ISO Seeks Independent Market Monitor
LCG, Oct. 16, 2000--The Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator Inc. announced Friday that it was seeking an independent third-party market monitor and had asked qualified firms to submit proposals by November 15."Using a third-party entity will ensure all participants that the markets the Midwest ISO operates in are analyzed consistently, fairly and without prejudice," said Matthew C. Cordaro, president and chief executive of the ISO.In a news release, the ISO said it was looking for a monitor that could be independent, objective, non-discriminatory and knew how to keep proprietary information confidential.The monitor would keep an eye on energy and capacity markets, generation market power indices, energy imbalance markets and congestion management mechanisms. The monitor will also collect data and analyze markets for potential indicators of market power such as withholding capacity or bidding hanky-panky."The operator (monitor?) will evaluate market participants to detect behavior that adversely affects (our) ability to provide reliable, efficient and non-discriminatory transmission service," Cordaro said.
