LCG, March 13, 2026--The Southwest Power Pool (SPP) announced yesterday that leaders from the participating organizations voted unanimously to proceed as planned with expanding its regional transmission organization (RTO) services into the Western Interconnection. SPP sees the decision to proceed as planned as a strong signal of confidence as SPP and its partner utilities prepare for this key milestone, which will occur overnight between March 31 and April 1.

LCG, March 6, 2026--Entergy yesterday announced approximately $5 billion in total savings for 2.3 million customers in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi resulting from data center customer agreements in those states. Entergy, which completed its first data center customer agreement in 2024, projects the customer savings over the next 20 years and after the regulatory approval or acknowledgement of the public service commissions in those states.

J. Clifford Baxter has been promoted to vice chairman of Enron Corp. He joined Enron in 1991 and was chairman and CEO of Enron North America prior to being named chief strategyofficer for Enron Corp. in June of this year.Bryan J. Bertacchi has been promoted to vice president for gas-fired operations of the western region of Calpine Corp. He will have responsibility for 4,300 megawatts of base load capacity in operation, under construction and in announced development in California, Arizona, Oregon and Washington.Larry Buie has been named general manager for the Chattanooga Gas Co. servicearea of Atlanta Gas Light Co. He will be responsible for managing all distribution service operations throughout Chattanooga's service territory, which includes the cities of Chattanooga, Cleveland, Red Bank, East Ridge, Lookout Mountain, and Signal Mountain.Stephen J. Curran has joined New England utility holding company Unitil Corp. as controller. He brings with him 21 years' utility accounting experience gained at Bay State Gas Co., where he most recently was controller.Jacqueline Michalik Frank has been named vice president and chief information officer of NUI Corp., holding company for natural gas utilities serving more than 371,000 customers in six states along the eastern seaboard. Frank most recently was director of strategic planning and portfolio management with Hoffman-La Roche.Thomas Linquist, most recently a vice-president of Deutsche Genossenschaftsbank's project finance group in New York, has been named assistant vice president for project finance by Peoples Energy Corp. T.M. Matthews, chairman, president and chief executive of Avista Corp. will leave the company at the end of the year "so that I can spend more time with my family." Vice President Gary G. Ely will act as president and CEO until a permanent replacement for Matthews is found.Thomas A. Nardi has become president and chief executive officer of Peoples Energy Services, the retail energy marketing subsidiary of Peoples Energy Inc. He joins the company from the utility and energy strategy practice at Andersen Consulting.Desiree Rogers, vice president for corporate communications with Peoples Energy Corp., will assume the additional responsibilities of chief marketing and communications officer.
