LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. The first uprate is expected to be delivered by 2028.

LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

North Carolina Power Agency Shopping for Juice
LCG, Oct. 25, 2000-- North Carolina Eastern Municipal Power Agency said yesterday it is looking for a new supplier to begin providing for some of its power needs beginning in January 2004.The agency said a contract with Carolina Power & Light Co. will expire on Dec. 31, 2003, so it is going to the wholesale market place in order to get the best mix and price for its power supply program.Eastern Agency, as it is called for short, said it will need around 900 to 950 megawatts of capacity in the summer peak months of 2004, with increasing amounts in subsequent years to handle load growth. It has issued requests for proposals, which will be accepted through December 11, and said "anyone who is interested in submitting a proposal" should give it a call.The agency is the full requirements power supplier to 32 municipal utility members located in eastern North Carolina. Twenty-three of the cities and towns are connected to CP&L's transmission system and the other nine municipalities are connected to the Virginia Electric & Power Co. wires.
