LCG, September 12, 2025--Entergy announced yesterday that the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) approved Entergy Texas’ proposal to build two efficient natural gas-fired power plants to support the region’s rapid growth. The combined electric generating capacity of the two facilities, the Legend Power Station and the Lone Star Power Station, will add over 1,200 MW to the Southeast Texas power grid to support new customer demand, increase reliability and lower costs for all customers. Both facilities are scheduled to commence operations by mid-2028.

LCG, September 4, 2025--Puget Sound Energy (PSE) announced yesterday that phased construction has commenced on its 142-MW Appaloosa Solar Project, a utility-scale solar facility underway in southeastern Washington. The project is being built by Qcells EPC, who will serve as the module manufacturer and the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solution provider. Construction is scheduled through 2026, and commercial operation is expected at the end of next year.

Kinder Morgan Unit to Run Gas Pipeline into St. Louis
LCG, Nov. 30, 2000--The Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America says it plans to run a natural gas pipeline into the eastern part of metropolitan St. Louis, Mo., adding competition for distribution utilities and encouraging development of gas-fired electric power plants.NGPL, a subsidiary of Kinder Morgan Inc., said it has signed supply and storage contracts with Dynegy Marketing and Trade, a unit of Dynegy Inc. which recently acquired Illinois Power Co. Illinois Power serves portions of eastern metropolitan St. Louis with both electricity and gas.NGPL will build a 47-mile pipeline from Centralia, Ill., to an interconnection with Illinois Power's St. Louis distribution system. When completed, the $35 million conduit will have a transportation capacity of 300,000 decatherms of gas per day.Dynegy, under a 10-year agreement, has signed up for 90,000 decatherms per day and, according the NGPL, that's enough to go ahead on. Deb Macdonald, the company's president, said "With Dynegy as our anchor customer, we will build the new lateral into the St. Louis market regardless of whether we receive other expressions of interest."
