LCG, September 12, 2025--Entergy announced yesterday that the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) approved Entergy Texas’ proposal to build two efficient natural gas-fired power plants to support the region’s rapid growth. The combined electric generating capacity of the two facilities, the Legend Power Station and the Lone Star Power Station, will add over 1,200 MW to the Southeast Texas power grid to support new customer demand, increase reliability and lower costs for all customers. Both facilities are scheduled to commence operations by mid-2028.

LCG, September 4, 2025--Puget Sound Energy (PSE) announced yesterday that phased construction has commenced on its 142-MW Appaloosa Solar Project, a utility-scale solar facility underway in southeastern Washington. The project is being built by Qcells EPC, who will serve as the module manufacturer and the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solution provider. Construction is scheduled through 2026, and commercial operation is expected at the end of next year.

AEP to Build 900 Megawatt Cogenerator for Dow
LCG, Jan. 22, 2001American Electric Power Co. said this morning that it had signed a deal with Dow Chemical Co. for AEP to develop and build a 900 megawatt cogeneration plant at Dow'sPlaquemine, La., chemical complex.Dow will operate the plant, which will provide steam to the chemical plant and handle some of its electricity needs. AEP said it has reached a 20-year agreement to sell up to 900 megawatts from the facility to Tractebel Energy Marketing Inc., subsidiary of the Belgian energy and services giant."This project is another example of AEP's ability to successfully link its technical and commercialskills to meet our customers' needs," said Paul Addis, an executive vice president.Dow's energy business director, Bill Jewell, said "This power plant will enable Dow to be more energy efficient and allow us to grow to meet the needs of our customers."Construction of the $325 million facility will begin this year, with startup scheduled for early 2003.
