LCG, September 12, 2025--Entergy announced yesterday that the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) approved Entergy Texas’ proposal to build two efficient natural gas-fired power plants to support the region’s rapid growth. The combined electric generating capacity of the two facilities, the Legend Power Station and the Lone Star Power Station, will add over 1,200 MW to the Southeast Texas power grid to support new customer demand, increase reliability and lower costs for all customers. Both facilities are scheduled to commence operations by mid-2028.

LCG, September 4, 2025--Puget Sound Energy (PSE) announced yesterday that phased construction has commenced on its 142-MW Appaloosa Solar Project, a utility-scale solar facility underway in southeastern Washington. The project is being built by Qcells EPC, who will serve as the module manufacturer and the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solution provider. Construction is scheduled through 2026, and commercial operation is expected at the end of next year.

Cinergy Reorganization Aimed at Boosting Growth
LCG, Feb. 6, 2001Cinergy Corp. said last night that it would reorganize its business units into three groups, one for regulated businesses and the other two for merchant energy and something called "power technology and infrastructure services." "Today, about 50 percent of our earnings come from non-regulated markets," Chief ExecutiveJames Rogers said, calling it "a dramatic change from five years ago when nearly all of our earnings came from our regulated business."The company said each of the units will have its own chief executive, with Michael Cyrus heading up the merchant energy group, made up of Cinergy's power plants. He currently heads the company's energy commodities division.William Grealis will run the regulated businesses, which consist of the company's gas and electric transmission and distribution activities. He now is an executive vice president and Rogers' chief of staff. Larry Thomas, who is at present the head of power technology and energy delivery, will be chief executive of power technology and infrastructure services.
