LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. The first uprate is expected to be delivered by 2028.

LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

Sempra Plans 600 Megawatts in Mexicali, Mexico
LCG, Feb. 22, 2001A subsidiary of utility holding company Sempra Energy Inc. said yesterday it would build a 600 megawatt natural gas-fueled power plant in Mexico, in the border town of Mexicali. Sempra values the project at $350 million and said the facility should begin commercial operation by the summer of 2003.The plant, Termoelectrica de Mexicali, will be built by Sempra Energy Resources and would be connected to the California transmission system through a 230 kilovolt interconnect. Mexicali is 10 miles south of El Centro, Calif., and about 80 miles east of San Diego."Electricity from this new power plant can help alleviate California's energy crisis," said Donald Felsinger, Sempra Energy group president.Natural gas fuel for the plant will be delivered through the new North Baja Pipeline, which will begin construction this summer. In order for Termoelectrica de Mexicali's power to be exported into California, permits will be required from the Mexican Energy Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Department of Energy, but not from California regulators.
