LCG, September 12, 2025--Entergy announced yesterday that the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) approved Entergy Texas’ proposal to build two efficient natural gas-fired power plants to support the region’s rapid growth. The combined electric generating capacity of the two facilities, the Legend Power Station and the Lone Star Power Station, will add over 1,200 MW to the Southeast Texas power grid to support new customer demand, increase reliability and lower costs for all customers. Both facilities are scheduled to commence operations by mid-2028.

LCG, September 4, 2025--Puget Sound Energy (PSE) announced yesterday that phased construction has commenced on its 142-MW Appaloosa Solar Project, a utility-scale solar facility underway in southeastern Washington. The project is being built by Qcells EPC, who will serve as the module manufacturer and the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solution provider. Construction is scheduled through 2026, and commercial operation is expected at the end of next year.

North Carolina Gas Pipeline Completed
LCG, March 5, 2001Progress Energy Inc., the company formed by the merger of Carolina Power & Light and Florida Power, said this morning its North Carolina Natural Gas subsidiary has completed building the 84-mile Sandhills Pipeline across the south-central part of the state.The 30-inch, buried steel pipeline will connect the Williams Transcontinental Interstate Pipeline in Iredell County with a natural gas-fueled power plant under construction in Richmond County, south of Hamlet. Most of the line, about 73 miles, was built on an existing NCNG pipeline corridor, with new rights of way acquired in Anson and Richmond counties.CP&L has an agreement with Williams for long-term natural gas supply for its 620 megawatt power plant in Richmond County, which is nearing completion. The agreement is for 200 to 300 million cubic feet of gas per day.The electric company said it will add another 625 megawatts of capacity at the power plant, bringing total output to 1,245 megawatts, planned for June 2002. With the addition of compression equipment, the gas pipeline will be expanded to handle 800 million cubic feet per day.
