LCG, January 13, 2026--Oglethorpe Power today announced it has selected Kiewit Corporation through its subsidiary, The Industrial Company (TIC), as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partner for its new combined-cycle (CC), natural gas-fired power plant in Monroe County, Georgia. The new, 1,425-MW facility represents a capital investment of more than $3 billion. Commercial operation of the new generation capacity is planned to commence in 2029.

LCG, January 9, 2026--Meta today announced new, landmark agreements that will (i) extend and expand the operation of three existing nuclear power plants and (ii) drive the development of advanced nuclear technology. Meta's new agreements with Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo follow Meta's request for proposals (RFP) issued last month. Meta expects these projects to deliver up to 6.6 GW of new and existing clean nuclear energy by 2035.

Lisa M. Bodensteiner, general counsel for Calpine Corp., has been promotedto senior vice president. In 1996, Bodensteiner joined Calpine as associate counsel. Since then, her responsibilities have grown rapidly to include oversight of a large and expanding legal staff at the corporate office and the regional offices in Boston, Houston and Pleasanton, Calif.John Erickson has been named president of Otter Tail Corp., the new name of Otter Tail Power Co. He was made an executive vice president in June of last year in preparation for the retirement of John MacFarlane who will remain chairman and chief executive until 2002, when Erickson is expected to succeed him in those positions.Alan J. Noia, chairman, p[resident, and chief executive ofAllegheny Energy Inc., has been elected a director of the Electric Power Research Institute for a four-year term, beginning this month.Bruce E. Walenczyk will join Allegheny Energy Inc. May 1 as senior vicepresident and chief financial officer, replacing Michael P. George L. Ingalls, a New York Power Authority trustee for 23 years until his retirement in 1990, died Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. He was 86. Ingalls was appointed to the board by Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller in 1967, and his 23 years as an NYPA trustee -- 17 years as vice chairman --is a record. His lengthy tenure was recognized in 1991 when the powerhouse at the Power Authority's Blenheim-Gilboa pumped storage power project in Schoharie County was named for him.
