LCG, January 13, 2026--Oglethorpe Power today announced it has selected Kiewit Corporation through its subsidiary, The Industrial Company (TIC), as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partner for its new combined-cycle (CC), natural gas-fired power plant in Monroe County, Georgia. The new, 1,425-MW facility represents a capital investment of more than $3 billion. Commercial operation of the new generation capacity is planned to commence in 2029.

LCG, January 9, 2026--Meta today announced new, landmark agreements that will (i) extend and expand the operation of three existing nuclear power plants and (ii) drive the development of advanced nuclear technology. Meta's new agreements with Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo follow Meta's request for proposals (RFP) issued last month. Meta expects these projects to deliver up to 6.6 GW of new and existing clean nuclear energy by 2035.

PSEG India Plant Begins Producing Power
LCG, June 12, 2001--Tanir Bavi Power Co., a joint venture between the PSEG Global unit of U.S. utility holding company Public Service Enterprise Group and the GMR Vasavi Group of India, announced yesterday that it had begun simple cycle operation of 170 megawatts of its planned 220 megawatt combined-cycle plant located on a barge south of Mangalore in the state of Karnataka, India.A joint venture of PSEG Global and GMR Vasavi Group will operate the plant, which is expected to begin combined cycle operation in July.The barge was assembled by Hyundai in Korea and then shipped to the Mangalore Coast. Tanir Bavi Power Co. has a power purchase agreement with the Karnataka State Electricity Board andescrow support from the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd.If PSEG runs into problems with the Karnataka State Electricity Board, similar to those which beset Enron Corp.'s Dabhol Power Co. with the Maharashtra State Electricity Board, the barge may make it possible to tow the whole operation to a more investor-friendly venue.
