LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

NRC Sets Public Meetings on New Reactor Licenses
LCG, July 10, 2001The Nuclear Regulatory Commission said yesterday that it would hold a two-day open meeting later this month to provide information about possible license applications for new commercial nuclear power plants.The "workshop" will be held at the agency's Rockville, Md. headquarters on July 25 and 26.The purpose of the workshop is to inform the public of current and proposed activities by the NRCstaff to prepare for possible future license applications, discuss opportunities available for publicparticipation during these licensing activities, and obtain views from the public on identified licensing issues, the agency said in a statement.The NRC said it would discuss certification of nuclear power plant designs; the combined licenseapplication process which authorizes construction of a nuclear plant and specifies inspections, tests andanalyses that a licensee must perform before it can operate; construction inspection; reactivation ofconstruction permits for unfinished nuclear power plants; pre-application reviews which encourageearly interaction between applicants and vendors and the NRC; agency rulemaking activities; and NRCactivities, organizational development and staffing.
