NeuVentus Receives Storage Permits for its Texas Reliability Underground (TRU) Hub Salt Cavern Storage Project

LCG, April 4, 2025--NeuVentus, LLC ("NeuVentus") announced this week the receipt of a final order from the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) that grants a subsidiary of NeuVentus authority to create and operate 12 salt caverns for storage of a variety of gases (including natural gas and hydrogen) and liquids at its Texas Reliability Underground Hub ("TRU Hub") salt cavern storage project located in Liberty County, Texas.

X-energy and Dow Submit Application to the NRC to Construct an Advanced Nuclear Project in Texas

LCG, March 31, 2025--Dow and X-Energy Reactor Company, LLC ("X-energy") today announced the submission of a construction permit application to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ("NRC") for a proposed advanced nuclear project in Seadrift, Texas. The proposed advanced small modular reactor ("SMR") project could begin construction later this decade and commence operations early next decade.

Gerald Greenwald, a founding partner of the Greenbriar equity group, which makes private equity investments in the transportation sector, has been elected a director of Calpine Corp.. Herecently retired as chairman and chief executive from UAL Corp., parent company for United Airlines.

Ira D. Hall has been named a director of Teco Energy Inc., effective immediately. He is treasurer of Texaco Inc. and head of the company's finance department.

Joseph A. Householder has joined Sempra Energy as vice president of corporate tax. He moves to the utility holding company from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was a partner inthe firm's Washington, D.C., national tax office.

Lawrence L. Izzo, recently retired president and chief executive of Enron Engineeringand Construction Co. and its subsidiary, National Energy Production Co., has joined Calpine Corp. as senior vice president with responsibility for technical support and construction of Calpine's major natural gas pipelines and other gas infrastructure projects, international power projects and coal gasification projects.

Michael Morgan has been elected president of Kinder Morgan Inc., Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP and Kinder Morgan Management LLC. He will also become the third member of the Office of the Chairman, joining Chairman and Chief Executive Richard Kinder and Vice Chairman William Morgan.

Kenneth P. Mortimer, an educator and resident of Bellingham, Wash., has been elected a director of Puget Energy Inc. He is president emeritus, University of Hawaii, and chancellor emeritus, University of Hawaii at Manoa.

John F. Riordan has been elected a director of Nicor Inc. He is president and chief executive of the Gas Technology Institute, the organization created in April 2000 by the combination of Institute of Gas Technology and Gas Research Institute.

William Weaver has been elected chairman of Puget Energy Inc., an addition tohis responsibilities as chief executive and president. Weaver, who has been with the company 33 years and has served as president and chief executive since January 1998, said in a statement that the election will aide in management planning for retirement in 2002.

Daniel Yee has been named chief information officer of the California Independent System Operator, effective July 16. Most recently, he occupied the same position with the now-defunct California Power Exchange.
