LCG, January 13, 2026--Oglethorpe Power today announced it has selected Kiewit Corporation through its subsidiary, The Industrial Company (TIC), as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partner for its new combined-cycle (CC), natural gas-fired power plant in Monroe County, Georgia. The new, 1,425-MW facility represents a capital investment of more than $3 billion. Commercial operation of the new generation capacity is planned to commence in 2029.

LCG, January 9, 2026--Meta today announced new, landmark agreements that will (i) extend and expand the operation of three existing nuclear power plants and (ii) drive the development of advanced nuclear technology. Meta's new agreements with Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo follow Meta's request for proposals (RFP) issued last month. Meta expects these projects to deliver up to 6.6 GW of new and existing clean nuclear energy by 2035.

Allen has been assigned by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as senior resident inspector at Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station, a nuclear power plant operated by TXU Texas Utilities Electric Co. near Glen Rose, Texas. He joined the NRC in 1996 as a project engineer in Region IV offices, Arlington, Texas, and most recently was resident inspector at Diablo Canyon nearSan Luis Obispo, Calif.Leonard Cline has been assigned by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as resident inspector at the Calvert Cliffs nuclear power plant operated by Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. in Lusby, Md. He joined the NRC as a reactor engineer in the Region I office in September 1999 and was most recently a reactor inspector in the performance evaluation branch in the region's Division ofReactor Safety.Simon De Bree of The Netherlands has been elected a director of Entergy Corp. De Bree retired in 1999 as chief executive of DSM, a highly integrated group of companies active in the field of life science products, performance materials, polymers, and industrial chemicals, with total revenues of $8 billion per year.Michael J. Egan, an executive vice president of Exelon Corp. and president of its Exelon Enterprises unit, resigned effective Wednesday, following an extended leave of absence for personal reasons. Johnson has been named vice president of Alabama Power Co. in charge of its Birmingham Division.
