LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

Boston Edison Parent Asks for Electricity Rate Cuts
LCG, Oct. 16, 2001--NSTAR Electric said yesterday it has asked the Massachusetts Department of Telecommunications and Energy for permission to cut electricity prices by as much as 27 percent for customers who take default service from the company.If approved, the rate cut could save those customers more than $11 per month, the company said.While the reductions vary slightly for three NSTAR affiliates, Boston Edison Co., Commonwealth Electric Co. and Cambridge Electric Co., customers will see roughly the same savings on their monthly electric bills. The typical householder, using about 500 kilowatt-hours of electricity per month, will see his bill drop from the high-$40s to the mid-$30s.Thomas J. May, NSTAR's chief executive, said "We are delighted to see world energy prices falling so rapidly and we are even happier to see the savings coming home to the people and businesses of Massachusetts. These lower energy prices will save Massachusetts residents and businesses more than $450 million and that will be a major contribution to the financial health of our state's economy."The company said that it will ask approval next month to cut standard offer rates for the three local utilities. These requests come on top of an earlier filing asking approval to reduce natural gas prices by 32 percent.
