LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

Panda, Alliant in 1,100 Megawatt Michigan Project
LCG, Oct. 17, 2001--Panda Energy International Inc. and Alliant Energy Corp. said yesterday they have formed a joint venture to build and operate a 1,100 megawatt natural gas, combined-cycle power plant in western Michigan's Tallmadge Township.Panda said construction will begin next spring and the plant is scheduled for full commercial operation in early 2004.Under the joint venture, Panda will lead development while Alliant will provide four natural gas turbines, as well as additional long-lead equipment used to interconnect the facility to the region's power grid. Alliant Energy also brings extensive facility operations experience to the joint venture."We have said from the beginning of the Tallmadge project that when it came time to select a joint venture company, we would look for an organization capable of contributing resources and operational experience," said Garry Hubbard, a Panda senior vice president.
