LCG, August 12, 2026--Arevon Energy, Inc., an energy developer, owner, and operator, today announced that its 300 MW/1,200 MWh Nighthawk Energy Storage Project in Poway, California, is now operational. Arevon celebrated the project's completion with an on-site ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by project partners, local officials, and others who helped bring the project online. Nighthawk, the largest standalone storage facility in the company's portfolio, should enhance system reliability and is among the San Diego region's most significant energy storage facilities.

National Guard on Duty at Four More Entergy Nukes
LCG, Nov. 1, 2001--Entergy Corp. said yesterday that three southern states have ordered National Guard troops to pull guard duty at four of its nuclear power stations, following a warning by U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft of possible new terrorist attacks.Entergy, which is the third-largest U.S. power generator, said it had asked for the National Guard troops because of a generally heightened state of alert. "This involves no specific threat but there is a general credible threat against nuclear facilities and we are taking what we believe are appropriate precautions," spokesman Phil Fisher said.The National Guard was called out to protect Entergy nuclear plants in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Similar action was taken last month to protect Entergy nukes in New York and Massachusetts.The company said it had initiated discussions with the governors of the three southern states following Ashcroft's warning Monday that terrorist attacks may be carried out in the next week against unspecified U.S. targets at home or overseas.The office of the governor of Arkansas said in a statement "In response to concerns about terrorist threats, Entergy has requested assistance from Gov. Huckabee and the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management to increase security at Arkansas Nuclear One," a two-reactor plant about 70 miles northwest of Little Rock.Fisher said "We have no reason to believe that any attack is planned against Arkansas Nuclear One or any other nuclear plant that we are aware of."But everyone will feel better with a few platoons of armed men wearing camouflage fatigues walking the perimeter of Entergy's nuclear power plants.
