LCG, September 12, 2025--Entergy announced yesterday that the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) approved Entergy Texas’ proposal to build two efficient natural gas-fired power plants to support the region’s rapid growth. The combined electric generating capacity of the two facilities, the Legend Power Station and the Lone Star Power Station, will add over 1,200 MW to the Southeast Texas power grid to support new customer demand, increase reliability and lower costs for all customers. Both facilities are scheduled to commence operations by mid-2028.

LCG, September 4, 2025--Puget Sound Energy (PSE) announced yesterday that phased construction has commenced on its 142-MW Appaloosa Solar Project, a utility-scale solar facility underway in southeastern Washington. The project is being built by Qcells EPC, who will serve as the module manufacturer and the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solution provider. Construction is scheduled through 2026, and commercial operation is expected at the end of next year.

David A. Arledge, who joined the board of directors of El Paso Energy Corp. following the company's merger with The Coastal Corp. earlier this year, has announced his retirement, saying "Now is the time for me to move on." He had been chairman, president and chief executive of Coastal.Ronald F. Green has been named president of FPL Energy, LLC, the independent power production subsidiary of FPL Group Inc.. He will assume the position in early December and will succeed Lew Hay, who is now president and chief executive of the parent company. Green joins FPL from Duke Energy Corp., where he most recently served as president and chief executive of Duke Engineering and Services Inc. and president and chief operating officer of Duke Solutions Inc.John R. McArthur, senior adviser on policy and legal affairs to North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley, has been named vice president for public affairs by Progress Energy Inc., effective December 3.James W. Nellen II has been named general counsel of W.E. Power, the Wisconsin Energy Corp. subsidiary created to design, permit, build and own the proposed in-state power plants the company has said it plans to build. Nellen most recently was a partner in the law firm of Michael Best & Friedrich, said to be one of the oldest and largest firms in the Midwest.Leslie Sibert has been named vice president for transmission by Georgia Power Co., replacing Ronnie Bates, who was recently named senior vice president for marketing. Most recently, Sibert was one of four regional marketing managers.
