LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. The first uprate is expected to be delivered by 2028.

LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

Utilities, Industrials to Invest $2 Billion in Brazil Power
LCG, Dec. 3, 2001--Electricit de France and Tractebel of Belgium, as well as aluminum producers Alcoa and Billiton Metals, said on Friday during the auction of 11 hydroelectric plants, that they would invest about $2 billion in Brazil's power sector.The companies would add 2,700 megawatts of installed capacity to Brazilian generation resources over the next six years, they said. New power plants would be built in 10 states between 2003 and 2007.The plan would do little to alleviate the current power shortage in Brazil, but was seen as a vote of confidence in the Brazilian economy. Jose Maria Abdo, head of Brazil's regulatory agency Agencia Nacional de Energia Eletrica (Aneel), said "This is a reflection of investors' confidence in spite of the period of economic instability."
