LCG, January 13, 2026--Oglethorpe Power today announced it has selected Kiewit Corporation through its subsidiary, The Industrial Company (TIC), as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partner for its new combined-cycle (CC), natural gas-fired power plant in Monroe County, Georgia. The new, 1,425-MW facility represents a capital investment of more than $3 billion. Commercial operation of the new generation capacity is planned to commence in 2029.

LCG, January 9, 2026--Meta today announced new, landmark agreements that will (i) extend and expand the operation of three existing nuclear power plants and (ii) drive the development of advanced nuclear technology. Meta's new agreements with Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo follow Meta's request for proposals (RFP) issued last month. Meta expects these projects to deliver up to 6.6 GW of new and existing clean nuclear energy by 2035.

TransCanada, AltaGas to Buy Enron Canada Assets
LCG, Dec. 6, 2001--TransCanada PipeLines Ltd. said yesterday it has entered into a memorandum of agreement with AltaGas Services Inc. to form a partnership which would purchase the remaining rights and obligations of the 706 megawatt Sundance B power purchase arrangement from Enron Canada Power Corp.TrasnsCanada said its subsidiary TransCanada Energy Ltd. will contribute about $110 million Canadian ($69 million U.S.) to the partnership upon closing for a 50 per cent interest.The rights to the capacity of the Sundance B facility were originally purchased by Enron Canada Power Corp. under the Government of Alberta's auction in August 2000. At that time, TransCanada acquired the rights to the 560 megawatt Sundance A facility."TransCanada believes this arrangement represents an extremely competitive source of power in Alberta -- one of our core markets," said Hal Kvisle, chief executive. "This is another example of TransCanada demonstrating its ability to move quickly when a good business opportunity arises."The Sundance power plant is located about 45 miles west of Edmonton, Alberta, and is the largest coal-fired electrical generating facility in Western Canada.
