LCG, January 13, 2026--Oglethorpe Power today announced it has selected Kiewit Corporation through its subsidiary, The Industrial Company (TIC), as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partner for its new combined-cycle (CC), natural gas-fired power plant in Monroe County, Georgia. The new, 1,425-MW facility represents a capital investment of more than $3 billion. Commercial operation of the new generation capacity is planned to commence in 2029.

LCG, January 9, 2026--Meta today announced new, landmark agreements that will (i) extend and expand the operation of three existing nuclear power plants and (ii) drive the development of advanced nuclear technology. Meta's new agreements with Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo follow Meta's request for proposals (RFP) issued last month. Meta expects these projects to deliver up to 6.6 GW of new and existing clean nuclear energy by 2035.

PG&E Gets Court Okay to Settle Small Claims
LCG, Dec. 28, 2001--Pacific Gas & Electric Co. said yesterday it has received approval from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to settle most of the 12,800 claims against it, but not authority to pay any of them. Settled claims would be paid following acceptance of a plan of reorganization for the utility.About 80 percent of the claims filed against the utility are fort amounts less than $100,000, and PG&E will be allowed to settle those. The company will also be allowed to settle some claims for amounts greater than $100,000 but less than $5 million.The court also approved the utility's request to object to groups of claims on the basis that they are, for example, duplicative, late-filed or have been paid, without waiving its right to assert additional objections to the same claims, if necessary.
