LCG, September 12, 2025--Entergy announced yesterday that the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) approved Entergy Texas’ proposal to build two efficient natural gas-fired power plants to support the region’s rapid growth. The combined electric generating capacity of the two facilities, the Legend Power Station and the Lone Star Power Station, will add over 1,200 MW to the Southeast Texas power grid to support new customer demand, increase reliability and lower costs for all customers. Both facilities are scheduled to commence operations by mid-2028.

LCG, September 4, 2025--Puget Sound Energy (PSE) announced yesterday that phased construction has commenced on its 142-MW Appaloosa Solar Project, a utility-scale solar facility underway in southeastern Washington. The project is being built by Qcells EPC, who will serve as the module manufacturer and the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solution provider. Construction is scheduled through 2026, and commercial operation is expected at the end of next year.

Palisades Nuclear Plant Serving Grid Again
LCG, Jan. 22, 2002--The Palisades Nuclear Plant, owned by Consumers Energy, is back on-line following a shutdown for maintenance that began in June 2001.The unit was brought into operation yesterday, when it had reached 35 percent of maximum output. Palisades is expected to achieve maximum output within the week. The plant's capacity is rated at 789 megawatts.During the shutdown, 45 control rod drive upper housings were replaced, and diagnostic procedures and major maintenance work were performed. Robert A. Fenech, senior vice president of nuclear, fossil and hydro operations for Consumers Energy, said "Palisades' return to service is a credit to the work of Nuclear management Company (which operates the plant) staff and other outage personnel." He noted, "the replacement of the control rod drive upper housings was a unique project in the plant' 30-year history."Consumers Energy is the main subsidiary of CMS Energy Corporation, and as Michigan's largest utility, it provides electricity and natural gas to residents throughout the state's Lower Peninsula.
