LCG, January 13, 2026--Oglethorpe Power today announced it has selected Kiewit Corporation through its subsidiary, The Industrial Company (TIC), as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partner for its new combined-cycle (CC), natural gas-fired power plant in Monroe County, Georgia. The new, 1,425-MW facility represents a capital investment of more than $3 billion. Commercial operation of the new generation capacity is planned to commence in 2029.

LCG, January 9, 2026--Meta today announced new, landmark agreements that will (i) extend and expand the operation of three existing nuclear power plants and (ii) drive the development of advanced nuclear technology. Meta's new agreements with Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo follow Meta's request for proposals (RFP) issued last month. Meta expects these projects to deliver up to 6.6 GW of new and existing clean nuclear energy by 2035.

Brighton Beach Power Station To Be Built in Windsor, Ontario
LCG, Jan. 24, 2002--A new power plant to be built by Brighton Beach Power L.P. will produce power under an energy conversion agreement with Coral Energy Canada Inc., which will supply natural gas and own and market the electricity from the Windsor, Ontario plant.Brighton Beach Power L.P. has been formed by ATCO Power Ltd. and Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to build the 580-megawatt combined-cycle, gas-fired plant. The facility will occupy the site of the defunct J.C. Keith Generation Station.The president of Coral Energy, Debbie Wernet, said "We have been active in the Ontario natural gas market for several years, and now with power from the Brighton Beach plant we are preparing to compete in the new electricity market." President of ATCO Power Gary Bauer said, "The Ontario government's commitment to open the electricity market on May 1 has created the opportunity for proven new participants such as ATCO Power and Coral to enter the Ontario electricity market."Construction on the project is expected to begin in early 2002, with an in-service date in spring, 2004.
