The leakage occurred in the main part of the center where reprocessing is scheduled to take place starting in July 2005.The pool's contents were transferred to an adjacent container that could hold the roughly 165 tons of spent fuel. The pool in which the leak was detected is being checked in order to see where repairs may be necessary. The facility will continue to accept fuel from nuclear plants throughout Japan.
