LCG, March 13, 2026--The Southwest Power Pool (SPP) announced yesterday that leaders from the participating organizations voted unanimously to proceed as planned with expanding its regional transmission organization (RTO) services into the Western Interconnection. SPP sees the decision to proceed as planned as a strong signal of confidence as SPP and its partner utilities prepare for this key milestone, which will occur overnight between March 31 and April 1.

LCG, March 6, 2026--Entergy yesterday announced approximately $5 billion in total savings for 2.3 million customers in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi resulting from data center customer agreements in those states. Entergy, which completed its first data center customer agreement in 2024, projects the customer savings over the next 20 years and after the regulatory approval or acknowledgement of the public service commissions in those states.

Bankruptcy Court Apprvoes PG&E Transmission Upgrades
LCG, Feb. 12, 2002--Requests made by Pacific Gas and Electric last month for approval of two major transmission projects have been answered in the affirmative by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.Due to PG&E's bankrupt status, spending items of over $50 million must be reviewed by the court. The Path 15 upgrade's financing is being overseen by public and private entities, many of which will co-own the lines. PG&E has been allowed to spend up to $75 million for the upgrades, which will join lines connected to the Los Banos and Gates substations.The other item approved, the Tri-Valley Capacity Upgrade project, will lead to improvements of the California transmission system east of San Francisco. The system is nearing capacity, and serves Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton and San Ramon, among other communities. These municipalities have granted their own approvals, as has the Official Creditors' Committee. The project will receive as much as $136.9 milion.The Path 15 upgrade in particular was seen last year as a means of preventing future supply crises in California due to transmission bottlenecks.
