LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. The first uprate is expected to be delivered by 2028.

LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

New Jersey Utility Joins PJM from NYISO
LCG, Mar. 28, 2002--New Jersey's Bergen County, served by Rockland Electric Co., will be part of the Pennsylvania-Jersey-Maryland Interconnection, the Mid-Atlantic grid operator.Prior to the announcement by Rockland, the utility had been part of the New York Independent System Operator market territory. The addition of Rockland is the first since Washington, DC's Potomac Electric Power joined in 1966. PJM West represents a further upcoming addition to PJM, and will cover the territory served by Allegheny Power's transmission system, including parts of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. The company is a subsidiary of Allegheny Energy Inc., based in Hagerstown, Md.Rockland's service territory supplies approximately 400 megawatts of demand, but does not represent any generation. Rockland will take part in the Basic Generation Service auction, which is intended to offer retail customers the opportunity to select alternative suppliers on a competitive basis.
