LCG, September 12, 2025--Entergy announced yesterday that the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) approved Entergy Texas’ proposal to build two efficient natural gas-fired power plants to support the region’s rapid growth. The combined electric generating capacity of the two facilities, the Legend Power Station and the Lone Star Power Station, will add over 1,200 MW to the Southeast Texas power grid to support new customer demand, increase reliability and lower costs for all customers. Both facilities are scheduled to commence operations by mid-2028.

LCG, September 4, 2025--Puget Sound Energy (PSE) announced yesterday that phased construction has commenced on its 142-MW Appaloosa Solar Project, a utility-scale solar facility underway in southeastern Washington. The project is being built by Qcells EPC, who will serve as the module manufacturer and the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solution provider. Construction is scheduled through 2026, and commercial operation is expected at the end of next year.

David Helwig, most recently ComEd executive vice president of operations, was recently appointed president and chief operating officer for InfraSource, an Exelon subsidiary based in Morton, Pa. He has managed all areas of the ComEd transmission and distribution system, and has over two decades of experience in line, engineering and services areas for PECO Energy, as well as General Electric Nuclear Energy's global services.Robert Fishman, senior vice president at Calpine Corp. has been selected to lead Calpine's GE LM6000 combustion gas turbine peaker program. He will oversee development, engineering and construction of 15 peaking turbines located at sites throughout Northern California. Fishman has also been president of PB Power, part of the Parsons Brinckerhoff group of companies. He has nearly three deacdes of experience in project development, management and facilities engineering. Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham has reappointedRufus D. Gladney to the National PetroleumCouncil. Gladney serves as ConsumerEnergy's executive manager of business servicesand was appointed to the council last year. Michael W. Rencheck will become senior vicepresident of engineering and region operations forAEP Pro Serv, Inc., a subsidiary of AmericanElectric Power. Rencheck entered AEP as vicepresident-nuclear engineering of the Cook NuclearPlant in Bridgman, Michigan.
