LCG, March 13, 2026--The Southwest Power Pool (SPP) announced yesterday that leaders from the participating organizations voted unanimously to proceed as planned with expanding its regional transmission organization (RTO) services into the Western Interconnection. SPP sees the decision to proceed as planned as a strong signal of confidence as SPP and its partner utilities prepare for this key milestone, which will occur overnight between March 31 and April 1.

LCG, March 6, 2026--Entergy yesterday announced approximately $5 billion in total savings for 2.3 million customers in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi resulting from data center customer agreements in those states. Entergy, which completed its first data center customer agreement in 2024, projects the customer savings over the next 20 years and after the regulatory approval or acknowledgement of the public service commissions in those states.

Ron Hinson has been named vice president, comptroller and chief accounting officer for Georgia Power, replacing Cliff Thrasher, who became chief financial officer and comptroller for Southern Company Generation and Energy Marketing. Hinson was previously named an assistant corporate secretary in 2001, in addition to his role as assistant comptroller since 1995. Hinson, who has been with Georgia Power for 23 years, will be responsible for overall corporate and regulatory accounting functions and for providing information to regulatory agencies and investors.Janie Wolfe has been named assistant comptroller for Georgia Power. Wolfe will continue to serve as corporate secretary, as she has since June 2001. She replaces Ron Hinson. Wolfe started her career as an auditor in the Southern Company Services Internal Auditing department in 1981.CMS Energy has named Kinnie Smith Jr. as vice chairman and general counsel. Smith replaces Rodger A. Kershner, whose resignation was announced Wednesday. Smith served on CMS' board of directors from 1987 to 1996, when he retired to enter a private law practice. Frederick Pastor Jr. has been appointed vice president-construction by PSEG Power, the independent power producer. Previously, Pastor was vice president-nuclear plant services with the Washington Group, which he joined in 2000 following a 30-year career with Stone & Webster, where he held a number of construction executive management positions. At PSEG Power, he will oversee construction in progress in New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Indiana.
