LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. The first uprate is expected to be delivered by 2028.

LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

Mirant Adjusts Balance Sheet Downward
LCG, August 16, 2002--A series of mistakes caused Mirant's balance sheet to be overstated by $1.1 billion at the end of last year, the gas trader and merchant power developer announced.Mirant did not provide details of the ways in which its assets and liabilities had been misstated, but said it does not anticipate that operating income, expenses, net income, liquidity or cash flow will be affected by the discovery. It certified its 2001 filings and first-quarter financial results with the Securities and Exchange Commission this week.Previous mistakes in operating results amounting to $253 million were disclosed by the company two weeks ago. "We're hard at work resolving these remaining issues," Marce Fuller, Mirant's chief executive said in a statement. "These were honest mistakes."Prior to the most recent disclosure, Mirant's assets and liabilities were equal to $22.8 billion.
