LCG, September 12, 2025--Entergy announced yesterday that the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) approved Entergy Texas’ proposal to build two efficient natural gas-fired power plants to support the region’s rapid growth. The combined electric generating capacity of the two facilities, the Legend Power Station and the Lone Star Power Station, will add over 1,200 MW to the Southeast Texas power grid to support new customer demand, increase reliability and lower costs for all customers. Both facilities are scheduled to commence operations by mid-2028.

LCG, September 4, 2025--Puget Sound Energy (PSE) announced yesterday that phased construction has commenced on its 142-MW Appaloosa Solar Project, a utility-scale solar facility underway in southeastern Washington. The project is being built by Qcells EPC, who will serve as the module manufacturer and the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solution provider. Construction is scheduled through 2026, and commercial operation is expected at the end of next year.

Two Wind Projects Proposed For Dakotas
LCG, Sep. 16, 2002--Two member electric cooperatives belonging to Basin Electric Power Cooperative may have two new 40-megawatt wind farms installed in their service territories by the end of next year.FPL Energy LLC, a subsidiary of FPL Group, Inc. has offered to build, own, and operate the two installations, while Basin Electric would purchase the output. "By using the energy from this project within the Basin Electric family of cooperatives, we are able to avoid the problems associated with transporting power to large load centers like Minneapolis or Chicago," the CEO of Basin Electric, Ron Harper, commented.The installation planned for North Dakota would be sited near the town of Edgeley, in the territories of Central Power Electric Cooperative and Dakota Valley Electric. The project slated for South Dakota would produce power within the territory of the East River Electric Power Cooperative, and the Dakota Energy Cooperative.Developer FPL Energy now operates 26 wind farms in nine states. Basin Electric members and owners produce power for 1.7 million customers across 124 rural electric systems in Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
