LCG, February 2, 2026--Ontario Power Generation (OPG) announced today that construction on the four-unit Darlington Refurbishment project is now complete. Station staff are completing final testing, and the last unit is expected to return to service in the coming weeks. OPG stated that the overall project is currently four months ahead of schedule and $150 million under budget.

Calpine Drops Plans for Peaking Plant
LCG, November 12, 2002-In step with the country's subdued energy market, Calpine has announced that it has scrapped plans for a new power plant in Pajaro, California.The Pajaro plant would have had a capacity of 45 MW and would have functioned during times of peak demand.Factors affecting the decision included opposition from residents, who were concerned over water use, and noise and air pollution.Calpine, based in San Jose, California, owns 16,889 MW of electricity capacity nationwide.
