LCG, September 12, 2025--Entergy announced yesterday that the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) approved Entergy Texas’ proposal to build two efficient natural gas-fired power plants to support the region’s rapid growth. The combined electric generating capacity of the two facilities, the Legend Power Station and the Lone Star Power Station, will add over 1,200 MW to the Southeast Texas power grid to support new customer demand, increase reliability and lower costs for all customers. Both facilities are scheduled to commence operations by mid-2028.

LCG, September 4, 2025--Puget Sound Energy (PSE) announced yesterday that phased construction has commenced on its 142-MW Appaloosa Solar Project, a utility-scale solar facility underway in southeastern Washington. The project is being built by Qcells EPC, who will serve as the module manufacturer and the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solution provider. Construction is scheduled through 2026, and commercial operation is expected at the end of next year.

NYMEX to Introduce PJM Futures contracts
LCG, Feb. 21, 2003--Incentives in the form of up to $200,000 in reimbursement of costs will be offered by the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) to induce floor brokers to trade Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland (PJM) electricity futures contracts.The futures are to be traded shortly, and will take the form of monthly, weekly, and daily contracts for PJM's western hub. As many as 100 two-year permits will be made available to brokers. As long as the brokers meet certain volume requirements, they can be reimbursed for salary and benefits of floor brokers, telephone and other such costs.The president of the NYMEX, J. Robert Collins, stated, "This is yet another example of the Exchange's innovative approach to expanding its participant base and establishing liquidity in new markets. It provides an excellent opportunity to become involved in the early stages of a contract that we anticipate will be as successful as our other major energy markets."
