LCG, August 12, 2026--Arevon Energy, Inc., an energy developer, owner, and operator, today announced that its 300 MW/1,200 MWh Nighthawk Energy Storage Project in Poway, California, is now operational. Arevon celebrated the project's completion with an on-site ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by project partners, local officials, and others who helped bring the project online. Nighthawk, the largest standalone storage facility in the company's portfolio, should enhance system reliability and is among the San Diego region's most significant energy storage facilities.

Low Hydro Causes Manitoba to Import Power
LCG, Dec. 16, 2003--The worst drought to hit the Canadian province of Manitoba since 1988 has seriously cut into the amount of hydropower available to serve local demand.Prolonged dry conditions and the increasing export of power to neighboring areas has led the utility Manitoba Hydro to begin importing power for the first time in over a decade. Purchases of power have exceeded sales by about nine-hundred thousand megawatts for the past six months. Local generation is at 60 percent of normal, according to spokesman Glenn Schneider.
