LCG, June 5, 2003-Subsidiaries of natural gas pipeline company El Paso Corporation filed a structural settlement with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Several bodies from Western states have claimed that El Paso manipulated natural gas flow, resulting in high gas prices and contributing to the energy crisis of 2000/2001.

The settlements, filed by natural gas and merchant energy units El Paso Natural Gas Company, El Paso Merchant Energy Company, and El Paso Merchant Energy - Gas, L.P.,, were submitted to the FERC along with the California Public Utilities Commission, PG&E Utility, the city of Los Angeles, and Southern California Edison.

El Paso Corporation is the nation's largest pipeline company, with 58,000 miles of pipeline, in addition to drilling and energy assets.
