LCG, September 12, 2025--Entergy announced yesterday that the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) approved Entergy Texas’ proposal to build two efficient natural gas-fired power plants to support the region’s rapid growth. The combined electric generating capacity of the two facilities, the Legend Power Station and the Lone Star Power Station, will add over 1,200 MW to the Southeast Texas power grid to support new customer demand, increase reliability and lower costs for all customers. Both facilities are scheduled to commence operations by mid-2028.

LCG, September 4, 2025--Puget Sound Energy (PSE) announced yesterday that phased construction has commenced on its 142-MW Appaloosa Solar Project, a utility-scale solar facility underway in southeastern Washington. The project is being built by Qcells EPC, who will serve as the module manufacturer and the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solution provider. Construction is scheduled through 2026, and commercial operation is expected at the end of next year.

Calpine Plans Project Expansion in Wisconsin
LCG, August 3, 2004--Wisconsin Public Service Corporation and Calpine have executed a contract that will lead to the expansion of Calpine's Fox Energy Center. Calpine currently is constructing a 305 MW plant to provide 235 MW to Wisconsin Public Service for deliveries beginning June 1, 2005. The new contract provides for an additional 235 MW, ten-year power sales commitment for capacity, energy and ancillary services. The deliveries are scheduled to begin on June 1, 2006, subject to approval by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin.The new, gas-fired, combined cycle plant is located in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. With the new agreement, Calpine will install another combustion turbine and related equipment to increase the total plant capacity to approximately 550 MW. Calpine expects to begin construction of this addition later this year, using a combustion turbine from its existing inventory. Calpine acquired the project last year from a subsidiary of MidAmerica Energy Holdings.
