LCG, July 22, 2025--Enbridge Inc. (Enbridge) today announced that it has reached a final investment decision on the Clear Fork solar project located near San Antonio, Texas. Meta Platforms, Inc. (Meta), has signed a long-term contract for all of the renewable power generated from the 600-MW project.

Northeast Reliability Interconnect Project Route Selected
LCG, September 22, 2004--Bangor Hydro-Electric Company (BHE) announced its preferred route for the Northeast Reliability Interconnect Project, a proposed 345 kV transmission line that will connect Maine to New Brunswick and improve both grid reliability and access to markets for generators.Currently, there is a single, 345 kV transmission line linking Maine and New Brunswick. The new line would be capable of delivering approximately 300 MW of power into Maine, and about 400 MW could be exported from Maine. The route selected by BHE is the Consolidated Corridors Route, which falls within existing road and utility corridors for 96 percent of its 85-mile length, minimizing right-of-way issues and impacting the least number of land owners. The new line would begin at Bangor Hydro's substation in Orrington and cross the Canadian border near Baileyville, where it would tie into the line being built by NB Power of Canada.Last month, ISO New England (ISO-NE) reviewed the proposed Northeast Reliability Interconnect Project and determined that the line will improve reliability in New England and that the costs - estimated to be approximately $90 million - should be spread across New England's customer base, rather than borne solely by customers in Maine. With the route selected, Bangor Hydro must now obtain regulatory approval permits from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and a certificate of public convenience and necessity from the Maine Public Utilities Commission. In addition, NB Power will need to receive permits for its portion of the project in Canada. The goal is for the new line to commence operations by the end of 2006.
