LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. The first uprate is expected to be delivered by 2028.

LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

Proposed New York Underground Transmission Line Appears Dead
LCG, January 4, 2005--Conjunction LLC's proposal to the New York Power Authority (NYPA) to install a 125-mile, underground electric transmission line from the Athens Generating Station into New York City via the New York State Thruway is apparently no longer under consideration, according to Conjunction LLC Chief Executive Officer Steve Mitnick. Conjunction believes NYPA has turned its attention towards another transmission proposal submitted by PSE&G. The transmission line proposal is in response to the planned shutdown in 2008 of a generating station in Queens. Conjunction filed its original proposal in November 2003 and filed an amended application in August 2004. The August proposal included constructing a 1,000 MW, predominately underground direct current (DC) line from NYPA's Gilboa-Leeds transmission line in Athens to the Consolidated Edison Company's Rainey substation in the Borough of Queens, New York City.
