LCG, September 12, 2025--Entergy announced yesterday that the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) approved Entergy Texas’ proposal to build two efficient natural gas-fired power plants to support the region’s rapid growth. The combined electric generating capacity of the two facilities, the Legend Power Station and the Lone Star Power Station, will add over 1,200 MW to the Southeast Texas power grid to support new customer demand, increase reliability and lower costs for all customers. Both facilities are scheduled to commence operations by mid-2028.

LCG, September 4, 2025--Puget Sound Energy (PSE) announced yesterday that phased construction has commenced on its 142-MW Appaloosa Solar Project, a utility-scale solar facility underway in southeastern Washington. The project is being built by Qcells EPC, who will serve as the module manufacturer and the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solution provider. Construction is scheduled through 2026, and commercial operation is expected at the end of next year.

LS Power's Arkansas Coal Project Picks Up Steam
LCG, August 4, 2006--Plum Point Energy Associates, LLC ("Plum Point") announced yesterday that it has signed a 200-MW, 30-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with South Mississippi Electric Power Association. Plum Point is a a member of the LS Power Group of St. Louis, Missouri.
The agreement provides South Mississippi Electric Power Association electricity from the Plum Point Project, a greenfield, coal-fired power project with a design capacity of 665 MW. Construction on the plant, located near Osceola, Arkansas, began in March of this year, and commercial operations are scheduled to commence in mid-2010. The agreement with South Mississippi Electric Power Association is subject to approval from the Rural Utility Service.
According to Plum Point, approximately 80 percent of the project has now been sold under long-term contract or through tenancy in common interests. Other customers participating in the project are East Texas Electric Cooperative, Inc., the Missouri Joint Municipal Electric Utility Commission, The Empire District Electric Company, and the Municipal Energy Agency of Mississippi.
