LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

Minnesota Poised to Adopt 25x25 Renewable Energy Plan
LCG, February 21, 2007--The Minnesota legislature Tuesday passed a bill designed to cause 25% of retail electric sales to customers in Minnesota to be supplied from renewable resources by 2025. The House overwelmingly approved the bill by a 123-10 vote, and the Governor has stated he will sign the legislation shortly.
The legislation includes renewable supply goals for most utilities of 7% by 2010, 12% by 2012, 17% by 2016 and 20% by 2020. The legislation allows for the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission to defer or change the schedule if it is in the public interest.
Renewable supply resources include wind, hydroelectric, solar, and hydrogen. Wind energy is specifically targeted to account for one quarter of the renewable supplies utilized.
