LCG, January 13, 2026--Oglethorpe Power today announced it has selected Kiewit Corporation through its subsidiary, The Industrial Company (TIC), as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partner for its new combined-cycle (CC), natural gas-fired power plant in Monroe County, Georgia. The new, 1,425-MW facility represents a capital investment of more than $3 billion. Commercial operation of the new generation capacity is planned to commence in 2029.

LCG, January 9, 2026--Meta today announced new, landmark agreements that will (i) extend and expand the operation of three existing nuclear power plants and (ii) drive the development of advanced nuclear technology. Meta's new agreements with Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo follow Meta's request for proposals (RFP) issued last month. Meta expects these projects to deliver up to 6.6 GW of new and existing clean nuclear energy by 2035.

Another Milestone Achieved for PPM's Twin Buttes Wind Power Project
LCG, September 7, 2007--The dedication ceremony for the Twin Buttes Wind Power Project is scheduled for next week. PPM Energy developed the 75-MW wind farm, and Xcel will purchase the power generated. Construction began in the fall 2006, and the project began generating power in July of this year.
The Twin Buttes Wind Power Project is located in southeastern Colorado in Bent County. The wind farm includes fifty, 1.5-MW turbines manufactured by GE. The turbines are installed over a 9,000 acre site that will remain ranchland. The estimated cost of the project is $100 million.
PPM Energy also jointly owns another wind farm, Colorado Green, in the vicinity with Shell WindEnergy Inc. Colorado Green, which is located in Prowers County, Colorado, consists of 108 GE Wind Energy 1.5 MW turbines and has a generating capacity of 162 MW. Shell WindEnergy and PPM Energy own the project in a 50/50 joint venture.
