OG&E Announces Agreements with Developers for Two Wind Projects

LCG, September 30, 2009--OG&E yesterday announced agreements with two wind developers for wind projects located in northwestern Oklahoma. The 20-year, power purchase agreements (PPAs) are subject to review and approval by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. OG&E is the utility subsidiary of Oklahoma City-based OGE Energy Corporation.

CPV Keenan will develop a 150-MW wind farm in Woodward County, and Edison Mission Energy will develop its proposed 130-MW wind farm in Dewey County. Both developers will build, own and operate their projects, and OG&E will purchase the power generated.

The two projects are part of OG&E's plan to significantly increase its current wind power capacity by the end of 2010.

OG&E currently has 170 MW of electric generating capacity from wind resources at its Centennial and Sooner wind farms. The new 100 MW "OU Spirit" wind farm is now under construction and is scheduled to be complete this year. The two new projects, together with the two existing wind farms and the project under construction, will provide OG&E a total electric generating capacity of 550 MW from wind farms.

OG&E also announced that it plans to solicit additional proposals from wind developers in the next several months to support plans for more wind generation in 2011 or 2012.
