LCG, March 17, 2026--Oklo Inc. (Oklo) today announced that it has signed a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) to support the design, construction, and operation of Oklo’s first reactor, the Aurora powerhouse at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) under DOE’s Reactor Pilot Program (RPP). The DOE Idaho Operations Office subsequently approved the Nuclear Safety Design Agreement (NSDA) for the fast-fission power plant, and Oklo immediately requested DOE commence review of its Preliminary Documented Safety Analysis (PDSA).

LCG, March 13, 2026--The Southwest Power Pool (SPP) announced yesterday that leaders from the participating organizations voted unanimously to proceed as planned with expanding its regional transmission organization (RTO) services into the Western Interconnection. SPP sees the decision to proceed as planned as a strong signal of confidence as SPP and its partner utilities prepare for this key milestone, which will occur overnight between March 31 and April 1.

Southern California Edison Announces New Agreement with SunPower
LCG, March 17, 2010--Southern California Edison (SCE) announced yesterday that it awarded a contract to SunPower Corp. to provide solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for up to 200 MW of capacity in order to meet the solar capacity needed for the utility?s solar PV program.
SCE plans to construct, own and operate 250 MW of solar generating capacity over the next five years. The strategy is to install solar PV systems as large as 2 MW of electric generating capacity on leased, warehouse rooftops and to connect the systems into the local distribution grid.
SCE will purchase the non-penetrating, SunPower T5 Solar Roof Tile system. According to SunPower, the T5 Roof Tile system integrates a frame and mounting system with SunPower's high-performance, 96-cell solar panels, including the recently announced SunPower 315 Solar Panel.
In a related event last Friday, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) approved the use of tradable renewable energy credits purchased from renewable energy generators, including those located outside California, for use in the California Renewables Portfolio Standard (RPS) program. Previously, utilities were required to procure electricity bundled with renewable energy credits (RECs) from electric generating facilities.
With the recent decision by the CPUC and the new agreement with SunPower, SCE is better positioned to meet or exceed California's RPS program requirement to purchase 20 percent of their retail sales from renewable energy sources this year.
