LCG, June 4, 2025--Energy Vault Holdings Inc. (Energy Vault) and Jupiter Power (Jupiter) today announced the signing of an agreement for the supply of an additional battery energy storage system (BESS) at a Jupiter site in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) region. The initial BESS project, located near Fort Stockton, Texas, was completed in July 2024, with a storage capacity 100 MW/200 MWh. The new BESS project will add another 100 MW/200 MWh of capacity. Construction has commenced, and the project is expected to achieve commercial operations by the end of this summer.

LCG, May 30, 2025--NuScale Power Corporation (NuScale), a leading provider of advanced small modular reactor (SMR) nuclear technology, yesterday announced that it has received design approval from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for its uprated 77 MW power modules. NuScale states that it remains the only SMR technology company with design approval from the NRC, and the company remains on track for deployment by 2030, with 50- and 77-MW SMR options.

NextEra Advances Financing for 250-MW Solar Project in California
LCG, August 30, 2011--NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, announced yesterday that its subsidiary, Genesis Solar, LLC, has closed on construction and term financing consisting of $702 million in project bonds, a $150 million project term loan facility and an $83 million project letter of credit facility for a 250-MW concentrating solar thermal generating facility located in Riverside County, California. In addition, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) provided a loan guarantee of 80 percent of the principal and interest on the project bonds and project term loan under its Financial Institution Partnership Program for the project.
The Genesis Solar Energy Project is a concentrating solar power (CSP) project that includes two, 125-MW power block facilities that will incorporate parabolic trough solar thermal technology. Over 500,000 parabolic mirrors will be assembled in rows located on about 1,800 acres in the Sonoran Desert. Power will be generated from steam turbine generators receiving steam from solar steam generators that use a heat-transfer fluid exposed to the sun in arrays of parabolic mirrors.
